There are many issues facing our communities--unemployment, homelessness, hunger, illiteracy, poverty, addiction and abuse--it's not always easy to figure out how to help. So many groups ask for your support and you want to be sure your time and money are making a difference. That's what the Habersham United Way does! We ensure your generous donations go to help people right here at home in the most efficient and effective way possible.

United Way is based on the principle that united, we are stronger than we can ever be alone.

There are over 1,400 United Way organizations across the country. Each United Way is autonomous. The Habersham County United Way is a local, volunteer-driven organization that raises and distributes funds to meet the needs of our community. Volunteers from all walks of life work to make sure your money is well spent. The volunteer Board of Directors select and monitor agencies and programs that provide critical human care services, services that make a real difference in people's lives here in Habersham County.

Money raised locally, stays local! Ninety-nine cents of every dollar you give to the Habersham County United Way stays right here in our community. It's a simple formula that works. You give to the United Way. The United Way uses the money collected to fund a wide variety of programs and services that help people in our community year round.

But United Way isn't just a fund-raising organization. We work closely to partner with private businesses, local government, and non-profits to pinpoint and address critical community issues. United Way builds and maintains human service support structures that create a healthier, stronger community.
